My Testimony

I came to faith in Jesus Christ when I was eleven years old, sitting on the back steps of my grandfather’s home. A few years later, I sensed that God was calling me into ministry, but my journey from that moment to where I am today was anything but a straight line.

Life took me through ten years in the U.S. Army, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, and through seasons when I wandered far from the calling God had placed on my life. But even when I wandered, the Lord remained faithful. Through His grace, He brought me back to a place of surrender and renewed in me a desire to proclaim the Gospel I first believed as a boy.

Today, my desire is simple: to make the name of Jesus known. Whether through preaching, a prayer tent, a Gospel conversation with a stranger, or serving my community, I want to use whatever opportunities God gives me to point people to Christ.

For His Name Ministries grew from that desire. I don't have a story about what I accomplished for God. I have a story about the grace of God, the faithfulness of God, and a Savior who is worthy of everything I have left to give.

About

Beliefs

The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and trustworthy Word of God. Scripture is without error in its original writings and is our final authority for faith, doctrine, and Christian living.

God
We believe in one God who eternally exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and sovereign Lord of all things and is worthy of all glory, honor, and worship.

Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, willingly died on the cross as the substitutionary sacrifice for sinners, bodily rose from the grave, ascended to the Father, and will personally return.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and works to convict the world of sin, bring sinners to new life, indwell every believer, and empower Christians to grow in holiness and faithfully serve Christ.

Humanity and Sin
We believe every person is created in the image of God and possesses inherent dignity and worth. Because of sin, however, all humanity stands guilty before a holy God and is unable to save itself.

Salvation
We believe salvation is by the grace of God alone and is received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Christ's death and resurrection provide the only way of reconciliation with God. Everyone who genuinely trusts in Christ is forgiven, justified before God, given eternal life, and kept by His grace.

The Church
We believe the Church consists of all who have been redeemed through faith in Jesus Christ. Local churches are called to worship God, faithfully teach His Word, make disciples, practice fellowship and accountability, and carry the Gospel to their communities and the nations.

Baptism and the Lord's Supper
We believe baptism by immersion is an act of obedience for those who have personally trusted in Jesus Christ and publicly identifies the believer with His death, burial, and resurrection. We believe the Lord's Supper is a memorial and proclamation of Christ's sacrifice as we await His return.

The Christian Life
We believe those who have been saved by grace are called to lives of holiness, obedience, love, service, and good works—not to earn salvation, but as the fruit of a life transformed by Christ.

The Great Commission
We believe every follower of Jesus Christ is called to participate in making disciples. The Gospel must be proclaimed clearly and faithfully to all people, calling them to repentance and faith in Christ.

Christ's Return and Eternity
We believe Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly. There will be a bodily resurrection and final judgment. Those who belong to Christ will dwell eternally with God, while those who remain separated from Christ will face eternal judgment.

For the Sake of the Name

Above all, For His Name Ministries exists for the glory of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to remain faithful to Scripture, proclaim the Gospel without compromise, love and serve our neighbors, and go wherever God provides an opportunity to make the name of Jesus known.
